Christians Suffering from Anxiety, Depression, Anger, Shame, Addictions, Poor Self-Worth, Perfectionism, Troubled Relationships, and More is Often Due to Childhood Abuse & Trauma...

SoulSTEPS Can Help.

Don Mondell, PMHC, BCCLC, Christian Coach & Counselor

Christians often hear, “You’re a child of the King!” or “You’re more than a conqueror!” or “You’re the head, not the tail!” or “You have the victory!” or “You’re a new creation!”

What about Christians who struggle with anxiety, addictions, depression, poor self-worth, perfectionism, shame, and more?

Do those Christians feel like a victorious conqueror?

I doubt it. More than likely, what they feel is – “I’m a mess.”

Is that you?

Maybe you’re trapped in sin?

But you don’t want anybody at church to know, right?

Maybe you’re wondering if there’s something really wrong with you because it seems like everybody else is happy and “victorious.”

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone.

There’s a lot of Christians suffering from the same issues as you, and – they keep it hidden.

Why do Christians keep their problems hidden?

Christians keep their problems hidden because they’re ashamed. They’re ashamed because they’re afraid if somebody finds out about their problems, they’ll be rejected by a pastor, church leader, husband, wife, friend, or other Christians.

Why do Christians believe they’ll be rejected because of their problems?

Many Christians believe that as a Christian – you’re not supposed to have problems like – anxiety, depression, anger, shame, addictions, poor self-worth, perfectionism, or troubled relationships – but they do.

Why do Christians believe they’re not supposed to suffer from anxiety, depression, anger, shame, addictions, poor self-worth, perfectionism, or troubled relationships?

Christians believe they’re not supposed to have those problems because a preacher, pastor, teacher, elder, brother, or sister convinced them – if you’re living as a Christian should, you will not have those problems.

And here comes that inner voice…

“Am I really a Christian?”

“Am I a good Christian?”

“Is God mad at me?”

“What do I do?”

Okay, so how do I know these things about Christians?

I know these things because I was a pastor for many years, and every day, I worked to help people like you.

But my problem was a pastor has to wear many hats and do many things, and I just wanted to help God’s people get well.

That’s why I switched from being a traditional pastor to a Christian counselor and coach.

Hi, I’m Don Mondell, and I help Christians who suffer from anxiety, depression, anger, shame, addictions, poor self-worth, perfectionism, broken relationships, and more, usually as a result of unresolved childhood trauma & abuse.

I want you to know that I can help you, not just because I’ve been a pastor but because I’m also board-certified by the International Board of Christian Care, the Board of Christian Life Coaching, the American Association of Christian Counselors, and the International Christian Coaching Association.

I also have 35 years of experience helping broken Christians become healed and whole, and – I’m optimistic I can help you, too.

Also, I understand that the source of your problems is not always your fault.

As a child, you may have experienced physical, sexual, or verbal abuse.

You may have grown up in a home where mom or dad or both were an alcoholic or drug addict.

You may have been raised in a harsh military home or suffered the divorce of parents you loved.

All of those conditions can create the same type of trauma in a child that can predispose them to future problems.

What most Christians seldom realize is that those traumatic things that happened to them as a child can still affect them today –  even after they’ve become a Christian.

However, sometimes, well-intentioned pastors, teachers, preachers, and other church leaders may make you feel less of a good Christian because you have a particular problem. Then, you get the sense that your problem is because…

You don’t have enough faith.

You don’t pray enough.

You don’t love the Lord enough.

Maybe, you’re not really a Christian!

It’s no mystery, then, why Christians would hide their problems.

It gets worse because, week after week, you go to church, smile and sing, and do all the Christian stuff, and then you go home and fall back into your same secret problems and – loneliness.

Then, maybe, you get the nerve to tell a church leader your problem, and the leader, who’s well-intentioned but uneducated in these issues, gives you advice that doesn’t work. Then, you end up thinking…

“Well, they’re the expert, so I must be bad because it didn’t work for me.”

So, with these problems, how can you find peace? How can you feel safe and accepted and a part of the church?

How can you get the help you need without feeling judged or rejected?

I understand how you feel. That’s why, for over three decades, I’ve specialized in helping Christians who suffered trauma as a child and now, as adults, struggle with anxiety, depression, anger, shame, addictions, poor self-worth, perfectionism, or broken relationships.

I can help you, too, for free with SoulSTEPS.

SoulSTEPS at FindTruePeace.com helps to free adult Christians suffering from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships as a result of unresolved childhood abuse and trauma.

I’ve taken my 35+ years of helping suffering Christians and built it into one simple tool I call SoulSTEPS—three steps that lead your soul from pain-filled “prison” to joy-filled freedom. Those three steps are…

SoulHOPE helps adult Christians who have suffered childhood abuse and trauma such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, parental neglect, abandonment, or divorce to be freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships.

SoulHOPE – Peace for My Soul is the first SoulSTEP

SoulHOPE is about DELIVERANCE; it’s not about escape from demonic possession or oppression; it’s a process that leads to losing the pain of the past and finding peace at last. Deliverance begins with a discussion of past & present issues and heads toward…

  • An encounter with the Trinity that results in…

  • Changing my beliefs & actions that result in…

  • A new relationship with God based on love

SoulHOPE helps…

Adult Christians who have suffered childhood abuse and trauma, such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, parental neglect, abandonment, or divorce: to be freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships.

SoulFOCUS helps adult Christians who have suffered childhood abuse and trauma such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, parental neglect, abandonment, or divorce and who have been freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships through SoulHOPE, to finally discover true peace through a new vital and genuine loving relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit that they have never had before.

SoulFOCUS – Passion for My God is the second SoulSTEP

SoulFOCUS is about DEVOTION; it’s devotion to God and devotion to becoming the person God intended you to be. When we cultivate a passion for God, it leads to experiencing His love anew. Devotion(s) is not as much a set time of day with religious duties to accomplish as it is…

  • Cultivating a renewed relationship of value & joy with God by…

  • Doing those things that maintain my valuable
    relationship with God, and…

  • Pleasing my God with my mind, mouth & body throughout my day

SoulFOCUS helps…

b) Who have been freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships through SoulHOPE so they can…

c) Discover true peace through a new, vital, and genuine loving relationship with God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, which they have never had before.

SoulFOCUS leads to the third SoulSTEP: SoulPURPOSE.

SoulPURPOSE helps adult Christians who have suffered childhood abuse and trauma such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, parental neglect, abandonment, or divorce and who have been freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships through SoulHOPE, and through SoulFOCUS have finally discovered true peace through a new vital and genuine loving relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit that they had never had before, to now discover the true intention God had when He created them and the purpose He has for their life.

SoulPURPOSE – Purpose for My Life is the third SoulSTEP

SoulPURPOSE is about DIRECTION, learning why on earth I’m here; it’s finding God’s intention for my life. “Direction” is not a haphazard guess about what God wants me to do; it’s a thoughtful pursuit of…

  • Learning one’s specific, God-given spiritual gifts & applications

  • Understanding one’s unique, God-given personality type

  • Formalizing one’s particular passion(s)

SoulPURPOSE helps…

a) Adult Christians who have suffered childhood abuse and trauma such as verbal abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, parental neglect, abandonment, or divorce, and…

b) Who have been freed from addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, discouragement, perfectionism, poor self-worth, shame, and troubled relationships through SoulHOPE and…

c) Through SoulFOCUS, they have finally discovered true peace through a new vital and genuine loving relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit they had never had before, so now they can…

d) Discover God’s true intention when He created them and His purpose for their life.

SoulHOPE, SoulFOCUS & SoulPURPOSE together fashion what was once a broken Christian into a whole Christian, in love with their God, being the person He created them to be and doing that which He placed them on earth to do.

Over these decades, I have observed many Christians attempting some form of SoulFOCUS and even SoulPURPOSE while not experiencing the freedom discovered within the step of SoulHOPE.

This happens most often because a person does not see or understand how the things they struggle with now are related to something that occurred in their past.

They may not consciously recall or dwell upon the inciting event in their past. They may not believe something from their past has caused them emotional pain that often leads to their present inappropriate behavior.

Only with the SoulSTEP of SoulHOPE can this issue from the past be put to rest.

Until the inciting event(s) of their past is resolved correctly through a process such as SoulHOPE, people usually go about their Christian experience “performing” all the things expected of one who believes in Jesus. Unfortunately, without that core issue from the past resolved, they will either have an often painful and frustrating Christian experience or, at a minimum, a diminished Christian life.

Essentially, the brothers and sisters I am speaking of can and do “perform” their Christian duties, i.e., attend church gatherings, pray, read and study the Bible, etc. Yet, they continually struggle with specific thoughts and actions that leave them unfulfilled; they may wonder—is this all there is? Is there no more significant experience of being a Christian? Is there no relief to my suffering? Is there no end to my secret sin? Is there no hope for me?

As I have witnessed this in many, I have also developed, through research, study, and experience, what I consider to be the answer for these struggling believers. Indeed, I am grateful to God and the many Christians who have allowed me to be part of their healing and growth, their SoulSTEPS.

Here’s the best part. You can use SoulSTEPS any time you want, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on your phone, tablet, or computer, and…

I’m providing 40 SoulSTEPS charter memberships – free. Why?

Two reasons…

1) I’m older now and unable to see as many people as I once did, but I want to continue helping as many Christians as possible. So, I figured out how to use technology and the Internet to help more people now than I ever could because we didn’t have this technology when I was younger.

2) I haven’t completed building all of SoulSTEPS into the technology; there’s more to do before I can release it publicly. Before I open it to everyone, I need people to try SoulSTEPS. I need them to give me feedback on what they like and don’t like. I need their ideas on how to make SoulSTEPS better.

If you want to be one of the 40 people who receive a free lifetime charter membership to SoulSTEPS and agree to share your opinion once you’ve tried SoulSTEPS, I would be blessed. I will gladly add you to the SoulSTEPS waiting list.

IMPORTANT: I want you to know that when I open SoulSTEPS to everyone, I must charge a monthly subscription fee. I can’t afford to give away SoulSTEPS to everybody because the technology has many ongoing costs. However, you will not be charged as a Charter Member. This is my thanks to you for your early belief in SoulSTEPS and the time you invested. You can continue using SoulSTEPS for free forever.

So what exactly do you receive with SoulSTEPS? Here are all the features I’m working on and the features I have planned for later release.
